blue apatite cab ~
Offered here is a splendid cabochon of blue apatite, from Brazil. This material came to me from an estate sale, mistakenly identified as kyanite. Can't say that I'm disappointed, when after all, I purchased it because it was beautiful. And it certainly is! This big bold stone features pools of a captivating blue color, perhaps a bit darker and more translucent than shown by these photos. It's very richly appealing, to say the least, with distinguished character to spare. This substantial stone has a high rounded dome of about 7mm, a bold designer shape, and a nice glossy polish both front and back.
