Kyanite cab ~
Offered here is a very special cabochon of kyanite, from an area near Willis Mountain, Virginia. I was very lucky to stumble onto this gorgeous material already neatly sliced at an estate sale years ago, because I might not have had the heart to saw into it myself. This big bold stone features pools of a captivating blue color, perhaps a bit darker and more translucent than shown by these photos. It's very richly appealing, to say the least, with distinguished character to spare. This substantial stone has a
high rounded dome of about 7mm, and a nice glossy polish both front and back.
