Bohemite poppy jasper cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of very unusual poppy jasper. The dealer who had the rough couldn't
say for sure where it was found, and didn't know its name, but it was so amazing I eventually got all
he had. Another fellow, who has similar Arizona material, claims its name is boehmite or bohemite,
but since I can't be certain it is the same, I'll just continue offering it as a mystery poppy jasper. As
you can see, it has a wildly exotic pattern, very upbeat and festive, to say the least, and certainly has
some unusual colors too. There's burnt orange, creamy ivory, as well as a couple shades
of oddly muted slate blues. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 5.5mm, and a very slick glossy
shine both front and back.
