Horse Canyon agate~
Offered here is a large and deluxe cabochon of rare Horse Canyon agate, from California. This gorgeous agate is among the rarest and most sought after by collectors, and it's even more rare to find any with plumes. Sadly, the area where it comes from is all private and closed, so there's been no collecting for quite some years now. Recently, I heard the 2800+ acre property is up for sale, to be auctioned this coming April; talk about a rockhound's paradise! Anyway, this very special cab has a fabulous display of plumage, along with some of the more usual moss, in pastels of minty green, afloat in a highly translucent agate base, both yellow and milky. The stone has a very high rounded dome of about 6.5mm, a bold designer shape, and a brilliant polish both front and back.
