Description
~ Wave Hill agate cab ~

Offered here is a truly unique cab of Wave Hill agate, from Australia's Northern Territory. It's not often that a 'new' material becomes an instant favorite of mine, but this exceptional agate won my heart straight away. Everyone who sees it is impressed! When Terry Maple spied these agates at this year's Tucson show, he bought the entire lot! Bless his heart for sending some fine little nodules home for me to enjoy! Please take a good look at the details in this stone and you'll see why I'm so excited about this world class agate. It has a scattering of tiny orbs and bullseyes, along with intricate fortification banding framing dark cores. The coloration brings to mind an impossible cross between ocean jasper and Dryhead agate, with a little Baker Ranch agate thrown in to boot. Now check out the photo of the backside (Yes, it's that really is the correct one!), and you'll notice its similarity to the other Wave Hill agate cab I'm offering, the one with the odd floater in its core. The face of this stone has a totally different pattern from that on the back, because it was shaped to follow the outer skin of the nodule very closely. Fascinating! The uniqueness of each Wave Hill agate makes it a lapidary's fantasy, a collector's MUST HAVE, and I have no doubt it'll be a jewelry designer's best friend. This remarkable treasure is a steal at well under $2 per carat. It has anicely rounded dome of 6.5mm, a lovely fat teardrop shape, and a fine glassy polish both front and back.
