Raspberry tube agate cab ~
Offered here is a fascinating cabochon of raspberry tube agate, from Mexico. This highly figured agate is a pleasure to work with, and I must say I like it a lot! It is mined at the Crown Of Silver psilomelane claims as an extra added bonus. The deep raspberry coloration of the plumes is due to the infiltration of rhodonite, so the miner tells me. There are many dark tubes and spots of psilomelane that contrast well in the crystalline agate base, along with some subtle fortifications that frame natural voids giving the stone a uniquely appealing dimension. And it's fascinating when backlit, so be sure to enlarge the photos and take a look. The cab has a very high rounded dome of 7.5mm, a fun designer shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
