Mexican lace agate cab ~
Offered here is a striking cabochon cut from unusual Mexican crazy lace agate. This ornate cab has lacy and tiny orbs in brilliant red, orange and yellow, along with patches of translucent quartz. Please take a good look at the quartz where it abuts the agate, and you'll see it shows the nature of its formation in several clear pools that are actually terminated crystals. There are some telltale red streaks where the agate is naturally self healed, and some feathers in the quartz (one of which is visible at top left in the main pic) which probably isn't. There are a couple druzy pockets on the backside near the edge too; it's all very typical of this material, and I don't think it's much of a distraction. It should be a breeze to create the perfect setting for this one! The stone has a nicely rounded dome of 5+mm, an elegant designer shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
