Lucky Strike tube agate ~
Offered here is a cabochon cut from a Lucky Strike thunderegg, from central Oregon's Ochoco Mountains. Over the years, I've cut about a zillion of these nodules, but only found one with the interesting orange tubes shown in this stone. The background agate is very clear, and exhibits the intriguing effect of turtleback swirls, though the backlit photo shows only a hint of it. The cab has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, a gracefully fluid shape, and it is perfectly polished both front and back.
