Amethyst cab ~
Here is a cabochon of unusual chevron amethyst, from an unknown location. This gemmy material intrigues me not only with its excellent coloration, but because you can clearly see the individual crystals that compose the banded layers, along with the attractive look of the many healed inclusions. There is a scattering of very slight pits in one area of the stone, but I think you'll agree it's 100% worthy nonetheless. The cab has a low but well rounded dome of , an elegant designer shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
