Wave Hill agate cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Wave Hill agate, from Australia's Northern Territory. It's not often that a 'new' material becomes an instant favorite of mine, but this exceptional agate looks like something straight out of my rock fantasies. Everyone who sees it is impressed! When Terry Maple spied these agates at this year's Tucson show, he bought the entire lot! Bless his heart for sending some fine little nodules home for me to enjoy! Have a look at the details in this stone and you'll see why this world class agate has everyone so excited. This one's an eye agate, with neat bullseyes and orbs in bright yellow, blue gray, and rose, on a background of pink. Both ends are deep magenta, and show some nice fortification banding. It certainly has striking character and contrast! Yes indeedy, every nodule of this agate offers some surprise or another, and this one is truly a collector's delight! It has a high rounded dome of 8mm, a fun designer shape, and a great glassy polish both front and back.
