Montana agate cab ~
Offered here is a striking designer cabochon of Montana dendritic agate, cut from rough 'found' recently in a Montana rockshop. heh This stone came from the heart of a one of a kind Yellowstone River nodule, and includes a great showing of classic inky black dendrites. But what really makes it so unique is its core of sparkly druzy crystals surrounded by purplish agate, and the reddish brown band that frames it. The band itself has some neat spiderwebbed moire pattern within it, so please click the pics up to full size to view the details. The background agate is beautifully translucent, subtly bluish in color, with an opalescent quality to it that I really like; backlit, it shows off its secret red heart. I think it'd make a fabulous bola tie, but whatever creative setting you can dream up, this stone will help put it over the top. It has a well rounded dome of about 5mm, and a slick, glassy polish both front and back.
