Montana agate cab ~
Offered here is a truly remarkable designer cabochon of Montana dendritic agate, cut from rough 'found' recently in a Montana rockshop. heh This stone came from the heart of a one of a kind Yellowstone River nodule, and includes a great showing of classic inky black dendrites. But what really makes it so unique is its core of sparkly druzy center of crystals surrounded by purplish agate, and the reddish brown band that frames it. The band itself has some neat spiderwebbed moire pattern within it, so please click the pics up to full size so you can take in the details. The background agate is beautifully translucent, subtly bluish in color, with an opalescent quality to it that I really like. What an awesome bola tie this one would make, WOW! Whatever creative setting you can dream up, this amazing stone will put it over the top, no doubt. It has a well rounded dome of about 5mm, and a brilliantly glassy polish both front and back.
