Wave Hill agate cab ~
Offered here is a very special cab of Wave Hill agate, from Australia's Northern Territory. It's not often that a 'new' material becomes an instant favorite of mine, but these exceptional agates won my heart straight away. This example has outstanding fortification banding in contrasting shades of pink. At center is a pentagonal heart of pale blue gray, surrounded by a clear band that has teensy dots within it. And there are scallops and a neat little bullseyes of maroon around the stone's edges. Simply fascinating! The uniqueness of each Wave Hill agate makes it a lapidary's fantasy, a collector's MUST HAVE, and I have no doubt it'll be a jewelry designer's best friend. This cab has a high rounded dome of nearly 6mm, with a great glassy polish both front and back.
