Marra Mamba tigereye cab ~
Offered here is a truly top notch cabochon of genuine Marra Mamba tigereye, a rarity from Australia. This startling old stock material is, by my lights, the most magnificent tigereye in the world, and this gem's an outstanding example of the highest calibre. It has THE MOST PRIZED colors of all, a near rainbow of silky flashing chatoyance! There's blue, green, salmon red and gold, all of which roll, shift and dance through the stone. Even the jasper present is beautiful, in midnight blue at one end, and dark brick red, olive and ochre toward the other, alternating with ribbons of shiny metallic hematite. I tried to illustrate the reflective nature of the metallics with the last photo, taken with subdued lighting; there's a row that's more golden, which I'm told is magnetite, and braided ribbons of hematite in dark silver, with some glittery dots and flecks visible like teensy stars in the jasper. This is an awesome stone you'll find most difficult to part with, an heirloom quality keeper. You won't find better anywhere! The cab has a high rounded dome of about 6mm, a curvy designer 'paisley' shape, and a brilliant polish both front and back, as befits a cab of this stature.
