Marra mamba cab ~
Offered here is an amazing cabochon of rare Marra Mamba tigereye, from Australia. This startling material is brilliantly chatoyant, with an eye catching flash you just can't miss, even in these flat digital photos. It is predominantly blue in color, with a bright yellow/green area at one end, and some pinkish red at center. Adding to the appealing composition are several ribbons of shiny metallic hematite, with some translucent quartz/agate, and golden ochre jasper. It has a nicely rounded dome of 6mm, and an excellent glassy polish both front and back. I do need to mention the presence of a tiny pit, and a small hairline fracture, both of which are tough to find. Still, I've set the price accordingly: It's a bargain at less than $1.35 per carat!
