Ammolite cab ~
Offered here is a dazzling doublet cabochon of gem ammolite, from Canada. This ancient shell material is many millions of years old, and though fossil ammonites are found on every continent, I'm told that those with the brilliant rainbows of color are found only in Canada. And gem ammolite is even rarer than diamonds, by far. This outstanding example is definitely colorful, and even rivals the fire of black opal! It's predominantly electric hues of lime green, but it also shows some brilliant orange, gold, and at certain angles there's even a bit of blue and purple at the pointed end. WOW!!! It is capped with natural optical quartz, permanently bonded in place, to protect this treasure from harm, making this phenominal stone practical for every day wear. It has a well rounded dome of 5.5mm, a crisp designer shape, and a fine glassy polish.
