Marra Mamba tigereye cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of rare Marra Mamba tigereye, from Australia. This material is, in my opinion, the most awesome and brilliant tigereye there is anywhere in the world. This example has but a couple smallish patches of chatoyance, in silky salmon red, blue and gold, with just a teaser of green. They really light nicely up when the light catches them just so. The jasper is also amazingly colorful, sharing the cab with ribbons and flecks of shiny metallic hematite. The cab has a low rounded dome of 3.5mm, which is a bit thinner than I prefer but works well with the proportions of this stone. It is cut in a versatile designer shape, finished to a slick glassy polish both front and back.
