Imperial cab ~
Offered here is an intriguing cabochon of Imperial jasper, from Mexico. This collectibly gorgeous spiderwebbed material is simply marvelous stuff, another member of the fine grained porcelain jasper family I love so much. This one has so much going on in it, I think it's best described by the photos. I particuarly like the 'curtain effect in the old ivory color seen at the large end, and the translucence of the deepest green areas. This one's a real keeper if ever there was one! The stone has a well rounded dome of 6mm, a crisp triangular 'spear' shape, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
