Morenci Chrysocolla cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of top quality chrysocolla, from Morenci, Arizona. This vibrant cerulean blue material is certainly not plentiful these days, and it's mighty hard to beat when it comes to eye catching. The colors don't translate very well, digitally, so these photos don't do them much justice. In hand, you'll see streaks of strong electric turquoise blue, with a scattering of green mossy malachite here and there, which stands out nicely against a backdrop of white quartz. Highly silicated material, this stone has a lovely translucence, and it's naturally hard enough to take a terrific polish, so it will wear well in any type of jewelry you can dream up. The stone has a low but well rounded dome, a curvy designer 'wing' shape, polished both front and back.
