Crown of Silver Psilomelane cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon of Crown Of Silver psilomelane, from Chihuahua, Mexico. This classic material is sometimes referred to as 'black malachite', though there's no real relationship. This beauty is loaded with wild bandings in sub-metallic black and shiny silver. This one was cut from very OLD material, with some wide silver banding you don't see too often today. The stone is very highly reflective, making photography quite challenging, but the pics are a pretty good representation. The stone has a well rounded dome, a sweet designer shape, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
