Moss opalite cab ~
Offered here is a cabochon duo of moss opalite, from Australia, also known as dendritic opalite. This unusual form of opal features superb mustard yellow coloration with a terrific display of black spidery dendrites. These are particularly appealing because of the large open areas of pure yellow color, without the sometimes overwhelmingly muddy pattern of too much moss. Nothing dull or washed out about these babies! I've seen this material set in both gold and silver with delightful results, but I think the contrast of a silver mounting would show it off best. Of course, that's for you to decide! Each of these cabs have high rounded domes, and a super glassy polish both front and back.
