Stone Canyon agate ~
Here is a striking cabochon duo of classic Stone Canyon jasper, from California. The stones are a fine example of brecciated stone, which means the original ochre-yellow jasper was once broken apart by some powerful earth movement, and then naturally re-cemented with contrasting burgundy-red agate. I just love this stuff! Each of these stones has a nicely rounded dome, and a slick glassy polish both front and back.
