Rutilated quartz cab ~
Offered here is a large, deluxe cabochon of rutilated quartz, from Brazil. This amazing example features water clear quartz and delicate 'angel hair' needles of golden rutile, scattered like jackstraws. Happily, this stone has next to none of the typical 'fairy frost' inclusions, and just a pinpoint speck or two of floating matrix. The rutile really shows off sparkly in direct sunlight, and I think it would look equally gorgeous in either a closed or an open backed setting. It has a dome of 5.5mm, which is perfect for the stone's size and shape, and a brilliantly glassy wet ice polish both front and back.
